Vinales is recognized as one of the most fascinating places in all of Cuba. It is a territory where incredible mountain systems, curious vegetation and fauna, unimaginable dive sites and large caverns merge into one perfect environment to be around of.
It is located in Pinar del Río, within the Viñales National Park and is an access road to the Sierra de los Órganos. It is located in the westernmost part of the island, where the natural, prehistoric, colonial and modern aspects melt.
The Viñales Valley and a large part of the surrounding sierra was approved in 1999 as a National Park. In December of that same year, it was declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site in the category of Cultural Landscape. The place has numerous high and steep hills of limestone, known as mogotes, unique on the island; which could be very attractive for mountaineering enthusiasts.
"The landscape is full of nuances between heights and plains, with a predominance of the Royal Palm, the national symbol of Cuba"
The landscape is full of nuances between heights and plains, with a predominance of the Royal Palm, the national symbol of Cuba. It is also inhabited by numerous tobacco plantations and a small route allows the visitor direct contact with the vegueros, knowing first hand their customs and routines.
The picture of the countryside is complemented by the town of Vinales, which despite being small is great in beauty. The transit through its streets allows you to enjoy the square, the church and admire the style of the oldest colonial settlements that still survive time.
The TaxiDrivers team invites you on a Vinales tour to live a heavenly experience, going into places like:
The Mural of Prehistory
The Cave of the Indian, one of the most visited by tourists in Cuba.
The house and the botanical garden of Caridad
The Paleontological Museum
